Warm Hearts

I finally adjusted to the time changes from Daylight Savings and when I did, I got this burst of energy! So I decided it was project time! I'm still working out the written instructions, but my "test" pattern turned out wonderful! I think I'm going to add some top-stitching, but you can see a photo of Project Scoodie (scarf+hoodie) when you visit the product page of this week's newest set. I didn't have any fleece in my fabric stash so I used some heavy knit material and lined it in the same. I added pockets and used two of the designs from the new "Warm Hearts" set. It's so warm! I am headed to JoAnn's tomorrow to replenish my fleece supply and will make another...Quick and easy Christmas gifts! You can't beat that!

Nathenia’s Green Chile Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo

Molto Squisito!!! Very Delicious! An Italian dish with a New Mexican flair!

2 Stick Butter
4 Cups Heavy Cream (or use 2 cups Heavy Cream & 2 cups Sour Cream)
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp fresh ground pepper (I usually use at least 1tsp)
1 cup grated Parmesan (fresh is best)
8 fire-roasted green chilies, peeled and chopped, or use frozen fire-roasted chopped green chiles. (If you don’t have fresh or frozen green chile in your area, look in the Mexican food aisle of your local grocer for canned.)
2-12 oz boxes of Fettuccine pasta
8 boneless chicken breasts, seasoned and grilled to your liking and sliced in strips

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the cream, garlic powder and pepper and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until thick.
At the same time, bring 6-8 quarts of water to a boil and add the pasta.

When the Alfredo sauce has reached your desired consistency, stir in the Parmesan cheese and green chile.

When the pasta is cooked, drain it. Place pasta on large plates, ladle Alfredo sauce over pasta, top with chicken breast strips.

Serve with Garlic bread and salad.

Serves 6-8 generously.

12 Days of Christmas & FSL Angel Charmers

Did you know that the song 12 Days of Christmas, first published in 1780 England, has textual evidence that it could be French?  Well whatever its origins, I'm sure the song is sung throughout the world and in its various modern versions too.

When my kids were little and learning to count, this was one of their favorite "number" songs and of course it's always fun to sing in rounds at Christmas celebrations. As I digitized this week's set, I recalled those fond memories.

Because they're so quick to stitch, I imagined several things to make with the new 12 Days of Christmas Set, but at the top of my list is a set of dinner napkins and place mats, a table runner and perhaps new hand towels for the guest bathroom too!

Hope you'll have as much fun creating Christmas items with the 12 Days of Christmas set as I! Don't forget to download the sample when you check out this new set on The Country Needle's website.
